CJC

Calibrate > CJC or Generate/cjc.jpgin the toolbox.

Cold Junction Compensation (CJC) Calibration is used to calibrate the temperature of each channel you are using. This is not a necessary step, as your DI-1000TC will come from the factory calibrated, but you should check the calibration yearly.

To calibrate the CJC, you must have a Thermocouple Calibrator connected to Channel 1. Because CJC calibration must be done in °C mode, if you have the millivolt mode selected and you open the Calibrate Channel dialog box, your mode will automatically switch to °C.

1. Set theTC Typein the Configuration Software to either J or K. ("K" was chosen for the graphic below.)

2. Set the Thermocouple Type on your Thermocouple Calibrator to the same type.

3. Set the Temperature on your Thermocouple Calibrator to a temperature between 10° and 50°C. ("25" was used for the graphic below.)

4. In the "Calibrate CJC" dialog box, type in the same temperature that you entered on your Thermocouple Calibrator (as shown below) and press the "Cal" button. This will calibrate the CJC.
